Lisa McElligott

Dublin

Lisa has been teaching in West Dublin since 2003. She is currently a member of the special educational team in her school, where she works primarily with children with literacy difficulties.  She has been instrumental in both raising awareness of dyslexia, and in introducing specific supports for children with reading difficulties in her school.

Lisa has a keen interest in motivating children to read for pleasure and is involved in many initiatives in her school to promote the enjoyment of reading.

She is a passionate advocate of learners with dyslexia and is currently the Secretary of Dyslexia Specialists Ireland (DySI).

Based in Terenure, she works with her colleague, Bríd, at The Dyslexia Institute.  She is available to evaluate the learning strengths and difficulties of primary school children and can design a tailored programme to tutor children with dyslexia/specific learning difficulties.
